But this wasn’t an ordinary cast album.
It was a show that hadn’t yet been produced.
It kept 50 artists working during an industry shutdown.
It had a team filled with Tony-winners, Grammy-winners, and artists pioneering a new model for how new musicals can be born.
It was only made possible through a grassroots fundraising campaign which allowed hundreds of supporters to get involved.
The album received rave reviews. It won the passionate endorsement of theater luminaries. And it was named the #1 Cast Album of the Year by The Broadway Radio Show.
And after 1 MILLION STREAMS (and counting!), THE VIOLET HOUR has captivated listeners worldwide who could imagine the show in the theater of their minds.

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP?
Movies are expensive.
There wouldn’t even be a VIOLET HOUR album if it wasn’t for our incredible supporters who contributed to directly to the project or purchased early access. We didn’t have a record label making it happen. And no…we didn’t fund it ourselves (we’re theatre writers…remember??)
Those generous contributions got the album made and distributed, but they don’t cover the movie’s production costs, let alone the budget necessary to properly market and publicize it.
It will take 50 ASSOCIATE PRODUCERS to cover the cost of the movie’s production.
It will likely take at least another 50 to be able to bring on a marketing professional and publicist.
Without this support, the movie simply won’t be able to reach nearly as many people.
And the faster people become aware of the show, the faster it gets to Broadway!
